CINEMATIC MUSIC

What Lies Ahead in Invisibility
  for Cinematic Music

Composition and Sound Design

Program Note

People tend to have a greater fear of uncertainty. This album comprises two tracks and is a creation born from that uncertainty, namely the fear of the unseen, presented as cinematic music. The tracks Whispers in the Silence and Approaching Unknown use several identical samples, transformed like variations and employed in each track. The aim is to musically express the emotions one might feel in situations where something approaches in the darkness of the unseen and the sensation of continually hearing something in a scenario where an unknown presence is perceived repeatedly. To convey these psychological states, both pieces primarily utilize string instruments, such as the Sul ponticello and dramatic articulation.

March of the Little People
  for Cinematic Music

Composition and Sound Design

Program Note

The work is inspired by the book “1Q84" written by Haruki Murakami. In this book, there are enigmatic creatures called 'Little People.’ True to their name, they resemble humans but are incredibly small in size and try to communicate with the world by creating 'Daughter' and 'Mother' through air chrysalises. Described somewhat peculiarly and mysteriously in the book, I wrote this work while imagining how the Little People might march if they exist somewhere beyond this world. Through this music, I aimed to express the unique eerie and mysterious atmosphere characteristic of the book.
